Quite a number of the People of the Book wish they could Turn you (people) back to infidelity after ye have believed, from selfish envy, after the Truth hath become Manifest unto them: But forgive and overlook, Till Allah accomplish His purpose; for Allah Hath power over all things.

(O Muslims,) many among the people of the Book desire to turn you, after your accepting the faith, back into disbelievers — all out of envy on their part, even after the truth has become clear to them. Viele von den Besitzern des Buches möchten euch, nachdem ihr gläubig geworden seid, gern wieder zu Ungläubigen machen, aus Neid in ihren Seelen, nachdem ihnen die Wahrheit klar gemacht wurde.
