It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (their faults), and ask for (Allah's) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast taken a decision put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).

So, (O Prophet) it is through mercy from Allah that you are gentle to them. Had you been rough and hard-hearted, they would have dispersed from around you. So, pardon them, and seek Forgiveness for them. Consult them in the matter and, once you have taken a decision, place your trust in Allah. Surely, Allah loves those who place their trust in Him.

It was by the mercy of Allah that thou wast lenient with them (O Muhammad), for if thou hadst been stern and fierce of heart they would have dispersed from round about thee. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult with them upon the conduct of affairs. And when thou art resolved, then put thy trust in Allah. Lo! Allah loveth those who put their trust (in Him).

So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him].

C'est par quelque miséricorde de la part d'Allah que tu (Muhammad) as été si doux envers eux! Mais si tu étais rude, au coeur dur, ils se seraient enfuis de ton entourage. Pardonne-leur donc, et implore pour eux le pardon (d'Allah). Et consulte-les à propos des affaires; puis une fois que tu t'es décidé, confie-toi donc à Allah, Allah aime, en vérité, ceux qui Lui font confiance.
По милости Аллаха ты был мягок по отношению к ним. Если бы ты был грубым и жестокосердным, то они непременно покинули бы тебя. Извини же их, попроси для них прощения и советуйся с ними о делах. Когда же ты примешь решение, то уповай на Аллаха, ведь Аллах любит уповающих.
Portugese
Pela misericórdia de Deus, foste gentil para com eles; porém, tivesses tu sido insociável ou de coração insensível, eles se teriam afastado de ti. Portanto, indulta-os implora o perdão para eles e consulta-os nos assuntos (do momento). E quando te decidires, encomenda-te a Deus, porque Deus aprecia aqueles que (a Ele) se encomendam.

Und in Anbetracht der Barmherzigkeit Allahs warst du mild zu ihnen; wärst du aber rauh und harten Herzens gewesen, so wären sie dir davongelaufen. Darum vergib ihnen und bitte für sie um Verzeihung und ziehe sie in der Sache zu Rate; und wenn du entschlossen bist, dann vertrau auf Allah; denn wahrlich, Allah liebt diejenigen, die auf Ihn vertrauen.
