O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may Take away part of the dower ye have given them,-except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good.

O you who believe, it is not lawful for you that you should forcibly take women as inheritance. Do not hold on to them so that you may take away some of what you have given them, unless they commit a clearly shameful act. Live with them in the recognized manner. If you dislike them, then it is quite likely that you dislike something and Allah has placed a lot of good in it.

O ye who believe! It is not lawful for you forcibly to inherit the women (of your deceased kinsmen), nor (that) ye should put constraint upon them that ye may take away a part of that which ye have given them, unless they be guilty of flagrant lewdness. But consort with them in kindness, for if ye hate them it may happen that ye hate a thing wherein Allah hath placed much good.

O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.

O les croyants! Il ne vous est pas licite d'hériter des femmes contre leur gré. Ne les empêchez pas de se remarier dans le but de leur ravir une partie de ce que vous aviez donné, à moins qu'elles ne viennent à commettre un péché prouvé. Et comportez-vous convenablement envers elles. Si vous avez de l'aversion envers elles durant la vie commune, il se peut que vous ayez de l'aversion pour une chose où Allah a déposé un grand bien.
О те, которые уверовали! Вам не дозволено наследовать женщин против их воли. Не чините им препятствия, чтобы унести часть приданого, которое вы им дали, если только они не совершили явной мерзости. Живите с ними достойно, и даже если они неприятны вам, то ведь вам может быть неприятно то, в чем Аллах заложил много добра.

Ó fiéis, não vos é permitido herdar as mulheres, contra a vontade delas, nem as atormentar, com os fim de vos apoderardes de uma parte daquilo que as tenhais dotado, a menos que elas tenham cometido comprovada obscenidade. E harmonizai-vos entre elas, pois se as menosprezardes, podereis estar depreciando seres que Deus dotou de muitas virtudes.

O ihr, die ihr glaubt, euch ist nicht erlaubt, Frauen gegen ihren Willen zu beerben. Und hindert sie nicht (an der Verheiratung mit einem anderen), um einen Teil von dem zu nehmen, was ihr ihnen (als Brautgabe) gabt, es sei denn, sie hätten offenkundig Hurerei begangen. Verkehrt in Billigkeit mit ihnen; und wenn ihr Abscheu gegen sie empfindet, empfindet ihr vielleicht Abscheu gegen etwas, in das Allah reiches Gut gelegt hat.
