If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess: And Allah hath full knowledge about your faith. Ye are one from another: Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is reasonable: They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours: when they are taken in wedlock, if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that for free women. This (permission) is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye practise self-restraint. And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

If one cannot afford to marry the free Muslim women, then (he may marry) the one you people own of your Muslim girls. Allah knows best about your faith. You are similar to each other. So, marry them with the permission of their masters, and give them their dues, as recognized, they being bound in marriage, not going for lust, nor having paramours. So, once they have been bound in marriage, then, if they commit a shameful act, they shall be liable to half of the punishment prescribed for the free women. That is for those of you who apprehend to indulge in sin. But that you be patient is better for you. Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful.

And whoso is not able to afford to marry free, believing women, let them marry from the believing maids whom your right hands possess. Allah knoweth best (concerning) your faith. Ye (proceed) one from another; so wed them by permission of their folk, and give unto them their portions in kindness, they being honest, not debauched nor of loose conduct. And if when they are honorably married they commit lewdness they shall incur the half of the punishment (prescribed) for free women (in that case). This is for him among you who feareth to commit sin. But to have patience would be better for you. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

And whoever among you cannot [find] the means to marry free, believing women, then [he may marry] from those whom your right hands possess of believing slave girls. And Allah is most knowing about your faith. You [believers] are of one another. So marry them with the permission of their people and give them their due compensation according to what is acceptable. [They should be] chaste, neither [of] those who commit unlawful intercourse randomly nor those who take [secret] lovers. But once they are sheltered in marriage, if they should commit adultery, then for them is half the punishment for free [unmarried] women. This [allowance] is for him among you who fears sin, but to be patient is better for you. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Et quiconque parmi vous n'a pas les moyens pour épouser des femmes libres (non esclaves) croyantes, eh bien (il peut épouser) une femme parmi celles de vos esclaves croyantes. Allah connaît mieux votre foi, car vous êtes les uns des autres (de la même religion). Et épousez-les avec l'autorisation de leurs maîtres (Waliy) et donnez-leur un mahr convenable; (épousez-les) étant vertueuses et non pas livrées à la débauche ni ayant des amants clandestins. Si, une fois engagées dans le mariage, elles commettent l'adultère, elles reçoivent la moitié du châtiment qui revient aux femmes libres (non esclaves) mariées. Ceci est autorisé à celui d'entre vous qui craint la débauche; mais ce serait mieux pour vous d'être endurant. Et Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.
Кто не обладает достатком, чтобы жениться на верующих целомудренных женщинах, пусть женится на верующих девушках из числа невольниц, которыми овладели ваши десницы. Аллаху лучше знать о вашей вере. Все вы – друг от друга. Посему женитесь на них с разрешения их семей и давайте им вознаграждение достойным образом, если они являются целомудренными, а не распутницами или имеющими приятелей. Если же после обретения покровительства (замужества) они (невольницы) совершат мерзкий поступок (прелюбодеяние), то их наказание должно быть равно половине наказания свободных женщин. Жениться на невольницах позволено тем из вас, кто опасается тягот или прелюбодеяния. Но для вас будет лучше, если вы проявите терпение, ведь Аллах – Прощающий, Милосердный.

E quem, dentre vós, não possuir recursos suficientes para casar-se com as fiéis livres, poderá fazê-lo com uma crédula, dentre vossas cativas fiéis, porque Deus é Quem melhor conhece a vossa fé - procedeis uns dos outros; casai com elas, com a permissão dos seus amos, e dotai-as convenientemente, desde que sejam castas, não licenciosas e não tenham amantes. Contudo, uma vez casadas, e incorrerem em adultério, sofrerão só a metade do castigo que corresponder às livres; isso, para quem de vós temer cair em pecado. Mas se esperardes, será melhor; sabei que Deus é Indulgente, Misericordiosíssimo.

Und wer von euch nicht vermögend genug ist, um gläubige Frauen zu heiraten, der heirate von dem Besitz eurer rechten Hand unter euren gläubigen Mägden; und Allah kennt euren Glauben sehr wohl. Ihr seid einer vom anderen. Darum heiratet sie mit Erlaubnis ihrer Familien und gebt ihnen ihre Brautgabe nach Billigkeit, wenn sie keusch sind, weder Unzucht treiben noch insgeheim Liebhaber nehmen. Und wenn sie, nachdem sie verheiratet sind, der Unzucht schuldig werden, dann sollen sie die Hälfte der Strafe erleiden, die für freie Frauen vorgeschrieben ist. Diese (Erleichterung) ist für diejenigen von euch (vorgesehen), die fürchten, in Bedrängnis zu kommen. Daß ihr Geduld übt, ist besser für euch; und Allah ist Allverzeihend, Barmherzig.
