Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all).

Men are caretakers of women, since Allah has made some of them excel the others, and because of the wealth they have spent. So, the righteous women are obedient, (and) guard (the property and honor of their husbands) in (their) absence with the protection given by Allah. As for women of whom you fear rebellion, convince them, and leave them apart in beds, and beat them. Then, if they obey you, do not seek a way against them. Surely, Allah is the Highest, the Greatest.

Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.

Les hommes ont autorité sur les femmes, en raison des faveurs qu'Allah accorde à ceux-là sur celles-ci, et aussi à cause des dépenses qu'ils font de leurs bien. Les femmes vertueuses sont obéissantes (à leurs maris), et protègent ce qui doit être protégé, pendant l'absence de leurs époux, avec la protection d'Allah. Et quant à celles dont vous craignez la désobéissance, exhortez-les, éloignez-vous d'elles dans leurs lits et frappez-les. Si elles arrivent à vous obéir, alors ne cherchez plus de voie contre elles, car Allah est certes, Haut et Grand !
Мужчины являются попечителями женщин, потому что Аллах дал одним из них преимущество перед другими и потому что они расходуют из своего имущества. Праведные женщины покорны и хранят то, что положено хранить, в отсутствие мужей, благодаря заботе Аллаха. А тех женщин, непокорности которых вы опасаетесь, увещевайте, избегайте на супружеском ложе и побивайте. Если же они станут покорны вам, то не ищите пути против них. Воистину, Аллах – Возвышенный, Большой.

Os homens são os protetores das mulheres, porque Deus dotou uns com mais (força) do que as outras, e pelo o seu sustento do seu pecúlio. As boas esposas são as devotas, que guardam, na ausência (do marido), o segredo que Deus ordenou que fosse guardado. Quanto àquelas, de quem suspeitais deslealdade, admoestai-as (na primeira vez), abandonai os seus leitos (na segunda vez) e castigai-as (na terceira vez); porém, se vos obedecerem, não procureis meios contra elas. Sabei que Deus é Excelso, Magnânimo.

Die Männer stehen den Frauen in Verantwortung vor, weil Allah die einen vor den anderen ausgezeichnet hat und weil sie von ihrem Vermögen hingeben. Darum sind tugendhafte Frauen die Gehorsamen und diejenigen, die (ihrer Gatten) Geheimnisse mit Allahs Hilfe wahren. Und jene, deren Widerspenstigkeit ihr befürchtet: ermahnt sie, meidet sie im Ehebett und schlagt sie! Wenn sie euch dann gehorchen, so sucht gegen sie keine Ausrede. Wahrlich, Allah ist Erhaben und Groß.
